LinkedIn Text Formatter

Write bold, italic and underlined LinkedIn posts, add bullet lists, and copy them in one click.

LinkedIn doesn't let you format text, so this free LinkedIn text formatter does it for you. Type or paste your post, select words and make them bold, italic, underlined or struck through, switch to fonts like script or monospace, and add bullets, ticks or numbered lists. Tidy the spacing, check the live LinkedIn preview and the 3,000-character counter, then copy your post and paste it straight into LinkedIn. Your text never leaves your browser, and the tool is free, with no sign-up and no watermark.

How Do You Format Text on LinkedIn?

To format text on LinkedIn, type or paste your post into the editor, select the words you want to change and click B (bold), I (italic), U (underline) or S (strikethrough). Add bullets or numbered lists from the Lists menu, check the preview, then click Copy post and paste it into LinkedIn. The formatting stays because the tool turns your letters into Unicode characters that LinkedIn shows on desktop and mobile.

LinkedIn posts, comments, headlines and About sections only accept plain text, so there is no bold or italic button. A LinkedIn text formatter gets around this by swapping normal letters for look-alike Unicode symbols, such as 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼 for bold. Because they are characters, not styling, they survive copy and paste and appear for everyone who reads your post.

The formatting happens in your browser, so your post is never uploaded or stored. You get a preview card that looks like a real LinkedIn post, a live character and word count against LinkedIn’s 3,000-character limit, and a marker for the first ~210 characters that show before “see more”. Undo, redo, paste from clipboard, a sample post and download as a .txt file are all built in.

What You Can Do With This Tool

Which LinkedIn Text Style Should I Use?

Use bold for your hook and key numbers, italic for quotes or soft emphasis, and lists to break up long posts. Keep fancy fonts for one or two words, such as a name or a short heading, so your post stays easy to read, searchable and accessible.

Bold: Best for hooks, headings and results you want people to notice.
Italic: Good for quotes, thoughts and gentle emphasis.
Bullet lists: Turn long paragraphs into quick, skimmable points.
Numbered lists: Ideal for steps, tips and "5 lessons" style posts.
Monospace: Works well for code, stats or a typewriter look.
Script: Use sparingly for a name, signature or short title.
