Lower quality makes smaller files. 85–92% looks identical for most images.

JPG can’t store transparency, so any transparent parts of your photo are filled with this colour.

Private by design: your images are processed in your browser and never uploaded. Protected by Cloudflare Turnstile.

    Why Convert HEIC to JPG?

HEIC to JPG conversion re-saves an iPhone photo (HEIC or HEIF) as a JPG file. JPG opens on virtually every device, app, website and print service, while HEIC often does not. Convert when a photo won't open on Windows or Android, won't upload to a website, or is rejected when you try to email or print it.

Since iOS 11, iPhones have saved photos in HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) by default. It keeps photos small without visibly hurting quality, so more pictures fit on your phone. Apple has said HEIF images take up roughly half the space of a comparable JPEG.

The catch is compatibility. Apple devices handle HEIC without trouble, but when you move those photos elsewhere, you may hit problems:

JPG fixes all of these, because it is the most widely supported photo format in the world.

What You Can Do With This Converter

How to Convert HEIC to JPG

    Add your HEIC photos

Drag and drop your files, click browse, or press Ctrl+V to paste. You can add up to 50 photos, each up to 100 MB.

    Pick quality and background

Open Settings. Keep quality at 90% for a good balance, or lower it to get smaller files for email and forms. If any image has transparent areas, choose the background colour that should fill them.

    Convert and download

Click Convert to JPG, then save each photo or use Download to get all JPGs in one ZIP.

Why Are My iPhone Photos HEIC, and Can I Avoid It?

iPhones use HEIC by default because it saves storage. You can change that, or avoid the problem when you transfer photos.

Option 1: Shoot in the most compatible format

On your iPhone, open Settings > Camera > Formats and choose Most Compatible. New photos are then saved as JPG. (Menu names may vary slightly between iOS versions.)

Option 2: Let your iPhone convert on transfer

In Settings > Photos, scroll to Transfer to Mac or PC and choose Automatic. When you connect your iPhone to a computer, it can convert photos to a compatible format for you.

Option 3: Convert after the fact

If you already have HEIC photos, this converter turns them into JPG in seconds without installing anything.

    Which should you choose?

Keep HEIC if you mostly stay inside the Apple ecosystem and care about storage. Choose JPG-friendly settings, or convert as needed, if you often share photos with Windows or Android users, upload to websites or print.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Open Teasoft's HEIC to JPG converter, add your HEIC photos, choose the quality, click Convert to JPG and download the results as individual files or a ZIP.

HEIC is the image format iPhones and iPads use by default since iOS 11. It stores photos in smaller files than JPG at similar quality, but not every device or website supports it.

Many Windows and Android setups do not include HEIC support by default, so the photo can't be displayed. Converting the photo to JPG lets it open anywhere.

Close, but not identical. HEIF is the file format standard and HEIC is the version Apple uses for photos. Teasoft's converter accepts both.

Slightly, because JPG is a lossy format. At 85–92% quality the difference is usually not visible. Use 95% if you want to keep as much detail as possible.

HEIC compresses more efficiently than JPG, so a JPG of the same photo at similar quality is usually larger. Lower the quality slider if you need a smaller file.

Yes. The converter makes a new JPG file. Your original HEIC stays untouched on your device.

A Live Photo becomes a single still JPG image. The motion and sound are not included.

Yes. Add up to 50 files in one batch, each up to 100 MB, and download them all as a ZIP.

No. Conversion happens in your browser, and your photos are never uploaded.

Go to Settings > Camera > Formats and choose Most Compatible. New photos will be saved as JPG instead of HEIC.

Yes. The converter works in the browser on iPhone, Android, tablets and computers. You do not need to install an app.

About Teasoft's HEIC to JPG Converter

Teasoft's HEIC to JPG Converter is a free browser-based tool that turns iPhone HEIC and HEIF photos into JPG files that open on Windows, Android and the web. You choose the quality, add up to 50 photos and download the results one by one or as a ZIP.

It is made for anyone who has ever moved photos off an iPhone and found they would not open or upload: students filling in application forms, small business owners listing products, families sharing holiday pictures with Android users, and professionals sending images to clients or printers.

Conversion runs locally in your browser. Your photos are not sent to a server, so they stay on your device from the moment you add them until you download the JPG files.
