How Do You Convert a PDF to PowerPoint?

To convert a PDF to PowerPoint, add your PDF, choose a conversion mode (Editable text or Page images), then click Convert to PowerPoint and download the .pptx file. Teasoft's PDF to PowerPoint converter runs entirely in your browser, so your documents are never uploaded to a server.

PDFs are great for sharing but hard to present from or change. When you need to show a report in a meeting, update an old pitch deck you only have as a PDF, fix a lecture handout or turn a brochure into slides, a PowerPoint file is far easier to work with. This converter gives you a standard PPTX file that opens in Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides, Apple Keynote, LibreOffice Impress and WPS Office.

Everything happens on your own device. With Editable text, your browser reads each page with pdf.js, an open-source PDF library, and places every line of text on a blank slide as its own text box, in the same position and at the same font size as in the PDF. Larger text is set in bold so headings stand out, and every PDF page becomes its own slide with the same shape as the page. With Page images, each page is drawn as a high-resolution image that fills a full slide, so the presentation looks exactly like the PDF, but the text cannot be edited.

What ends up in your PowerPoint file:

Part of your PDFWith Editable textWith Page images
TextEditable text boxes, one per line, placed where the text sits on the pagePart of the slide image, not editable
LayoutText positions and font sizes are kept; slides have a plain white backgroundIdentical to the original PDF
HeadingsLarger text is set in bold so headings stand outExactly as in the PDF
Images, charts and tablesNot included; text from tables comes through as separate text boxesKept as part of each slide image
Fonts and colorsText is set in Arial in a dark colorOriginal fonts and colors, shown as part of the image
Slide sizeMatches the shape of the PDF page, one slide per PDF pageMatches the shape of the PDF page, one slide per PDF page
Scanned pagesNo text to read, so page images are used automaticallyKept as images (no OCR)

Open Teasoft's PDF to PowerPoint tool, add your PDF, choose Editable text or Page images, then click Convert to PowerPoint and download your .pptx file. Most documents convert in a few seconds.

Yes. It is completely free, with no sign-up, no subscription and no watermark on your slides.

No. Your PDFs are converted in your browser on your own device. They are never uploaded, stored or seen by anyone else.

Yes. With Editable text, each line of your PDF becomes a text box you can change, move, restyle and search in Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides, Apple Keynote, LibreOffice Impress and WPS Office.

Editable text places the words from each page on a blank slide as text boxes you can change. Page images places each page on a slide as a picture, so it looks exactly like the PDF but the text cannot be edited.

Editable text keeps the position and font size of each line and the shape of the page, and sets larger text in bold for headings. It uses Arial on a white background and does not rebuild images, shapes, colors, tables or links. Choose Page images if the slides must look identical.

Yes, but scanned pages have no selectable text and the tool does not use OCR, so they are added to PowerPoint as slide images. The slides will look right, but the text will not be editable.

With Page images, yes, as part of each slide. With Editable text, images, charts and backgrounds are not included, and text from tables comes through as separate text boxes.

Up to 50 PDFs in one go, each up to 150 MB and 500 pages. When you convert more than one file, they download together as a single ZIP file.

You get a .pptx file, the standard format used by PowerPoint 2007 and later. It also opens in Google Slides, Apple Keynote, LibreOffice Impress and WPS Office.

No. A PDF that needs a password to open can't be converted. If you know the password, remove it first with Unlock PDF, then convert the unlocked file.

PDFs with several columns, text inside tables, rotated text or unusual fonts can be hard to rebuild as text boxes. If the result looks wrong, try Page images to keep the exact look.

Yes. It works in Chrome, Safari and other modern browsers on Android and iPhone. Very large or long PDFs convert more smoothly on a computer.

Each PowerPoint file keeps the name of the original PDF with a .pptx extension. Several files download together as one ZIP file.

No. Teasoft never adds a watermark, logo or extra slide to your presentations.

No. You don't need any software to convert. To open the .pptx file you can use Microsoft PowerPoint or free apps like Google Slides and LibreOffice Impress.
