How Does a Weighted Picker Wheel Work?
A weighted wheel gives some entries a bigger slice than others. Type an entry followed by a colon and a number, such as Alex:3. An entry with weight 3 gets a slice three times bigger than an entry with weight 1, so it is three times as likely to win. Entries with no weight count as 1.
Elimination mode removes each winner from the wheel after the spin. Keep spinning until only one entry is left for a dramatic knockout, or use the order the entries leave to set a ranking or turn order. Weighted wheels are great for loyalty rewards, raffles with extra tickets and fair chores where some people do more.
Spins happen on your own device. Every result uses your browser’s secure random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues), and nothing you type is sent to Teasoft.
How weights change the odds (example):
| Entry | Weight | Chance to win |
|---|---|---|
| Alex | 3 | 3 in 9 (about 33%) |
| Casey | 2 | 2 in 9 (about 22%) |
| Emery | 2 | 2 in 9 (about 22%) |
| Blake | 1 | 1 in 9 (about 11%) |
| Devon | 1 | 1 in 9 (about 11%) |
