Horizontal mirrors left to right, vertical mirrors top to bottom, and both is the same as turning the image 180°. The flip is applied to every image in the list.

Keep the original format, or switch while you flip. PNG and WEBP keep transparency.

    92%

Applies to JPG and WEBP output. Lower quality makes smaller files. 85–92% looks identical for most photos.

JPG can’t store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with this colour.

    Why Flip Images?

To flip an image, choose Horizontal (mirrors left to right), Vertical (mirrors top to bottom) or Both, then download the result. Teasoft's Image Flipper does this in your browser for up to 50 images at once: add your files, pick the flip, click Flip images and download. The flip you choose is applied to every image in the list.

Flipping creates a mirror image. Everything that was on the left moves to the right (horizontal), or everything at the top moves to the bottom (vertical). It is a different job from rotating, which turns the image but doesn't reverse it.

People flip images for plenty of reasons: a selfie that is saved mirrored, text that reads backwards, a product photo whose subject should face the other way in a layout, or an image that has to be reversed before printing. Flipping is quick, and saving the flipped copy means it looks right everywhere you use it.

    Common reasons to flip images:

    What each setting does:

SettingWhat it doesWhen to use it
HorizontalMirrors the image left to right, like holding it up to a mirror.Reversed text, mirrored selfies, changing which way a subject faces.
VerticalMirrors the image top to bottom, so the top becomes the bottom. An image that is flipped vertically, or a reflection effect.
BothFlips left to right and top to bottom. The same as turning the image 180°.An image that is upside down.
Save asKeeps the original format, or switches to JPG, PNG or WebP.When you also need a different format. PNG and WebP keep transparency.
QualityControls JPG and WebP output. Default is 92%.Keep 85–92% for photos that must look sharp.

What You Can Do With This Flipper

How to Flip Images (3 Steps)

    Add your images

Drag and drop your files, click browse, or press Ctrl+V to paste. You can add up to 50 JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP or AVIF files, each up to 100 MB.

    Choose the flip

Open Settings. Pick Horizontal (left to right), Vertical (top to bottom) or Both. The flip is applied to every image in the list, so add only the images that need the same fix.

    Flip and download

Click Flip images, check the results, then save each file or use Download to get everything in one ZIP.

Tip: if you are not sure which flip you need, look at the picture. Reversed text or a subject facing the wrong way means Horizontal. A picture that is upside down in a mirrored way (the top is where the bottom should be, but text still reads normally from left to right) means Vertical.

    Which Setting Should I Use?

    What it looks likeSetting
Text reads backwards (mirrored selfie or screenshot)Horizontal
Subject faces the wrong way for your layoutHorizontal
Image is a mirror image of what it should be, left to rightHorizontal
Image is flipped top to bottom, like a reflectionVertical
Image is completely upside downBoth (or use the Image Rotator at 180°)
Design needs to be reversed for an iron-on or similar transferHorizontal (check the transfer instructions)
You want a mirrored copy of a graphic or patternHorizontal or Vertical

Flip or rotate: what is the difference?

    ChooseWhen
Flip (mirror)The image is mirrored: text reads backwards, or left and right are swapped.
RotateThe image is turned: sideways or upside down. The picture is correct, just in the wrong direction. Use the Image Rotator.

Is a vertical flip the same as turning it upside down?
No. A vertical flip mirrors the image top to bottom, so text ends up upside down and reversed. Turning the image upside down (a 180° rotation) is the same as flipping both horizontally and vertically. If your image is simply upside down, choose Both here, or use the Image Rotator at 180°.

When should I not flip an image?
Flipping reverses anything with writing in it, such as signs, labels, logos, maps and documents. Don’t flip those unless the image was already mirrored. Also avoid flipping ID or document photos, because the reversed text may make them unusable.

    Why is my selfie mirrored?
Phone cameras handle selfies in different ways, and some save a mirrored copy of what you saw on screen. Depending on the phone and settings, the saved selfie can be reversed, so text on a shirt or sign reads backwards. Flipping it horizontally restores the real-life view.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Open Teasoft's Image Flipper, add your images, choose Horizontal, Vertical or Both under Flip, click Flip images and download the results individually or as a ZIP.

Choose Horizontal. It mirrors the image left to right, like holding it up to a mirror, so text and objects are reversed.

Horizontal mirrors left to right (the left side goes to the right). Vertical mirrors top to bottom (the top goes to the bottom). Both does both at once, which is the same as turning the image 180°.

No. Rotating turns the image without reversing it. Flipping mirrors it. A 180° rotation is the same as flipping both horizontally and vertically, but a single horizontal or vertical flip can't be reproduced by rotating. For quarter turns, use Teasoft's Image Rotator.

Yes. Add up to 50 files and every image is flipped the same way in one run. Download them all as one ZIP.

The flip applies to every image in the list. To flip only some, add just those images, flip them, and handle the others separately.

This tool only flips. For rotation, or a flip combined with a rotation, use Teasoft's Image Rotator.

Choose Horizontal. It flips the picture left to right, so text and the real-life view are restored.

Many iron-on and heat-transfer sheets are printed as a mirror image. If yours is, choose Horizontal to reverse the design before you print. Always check the instructions for your transfer paper or vinyl.

Flipping doesn't blur the picture, but JPG and WebP files are saved again, so there is a tiny amount of compression. Keep quality at 85–92% and keep your originals. PNG output is lossless.

They are kept when you save as PNG or WebP. JPG can't store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with the background colour you choose.

JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP and AVIF, up to 50 files per batch and 100 MB each. You can keep the original format or save as JPG, PNG or WebP.

Animated files are saved as a still image, so only a single frame is kept.

You can add up to 50 files in one batch, each up to 100 MB.

No. Flipping happens in your browser, and your files are never uploaded.
