Up to 50 Files at Once
Drop images here or browse
JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, BMP and AVIF images, up to 50 files, 100 MB each. You can also paste with Ctrl+V.
Right is clockwise, left is counter-clockwise. The rotation is applied to every image in the list.
Flipping happens before rotating, and you can combine it with any rotation.
Keep the original format, or switch while you rotate. PNG and WEBP keep transparency.
Applies to JPG and WEBP output. Lower quality makes smaller files. 85–92% looks identical for most photos.
JPG can’t store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with this colour.
Private by design: your images are processed in your browser and never uploaded. Protected by Cloudflare Turnstile.
Why Rotate Images?
To rotate an image, choose 90° right (clockwise), 90° left (counter-clockwise) or 180°, then download the result. Teasoft's Image Rotator does this in your browser for up to 50 images at once: add your files, pick the rotation (and a flip if you need one), click Rotate images and download. The rotation you choose is applied to every image in the list.
Photos and scans end up the wrong way round all the time. A photo taken in portrait shows up sideways in an upload form, a scanned page comes out upside down, or a selfie is mirrored so the text on it reads backwards. Rotating or flipping the image fixes it, and saving the corrected copy means it looks right everywhere, not just in the app that was guessing.
Common reasons to rotate or flip images:
- A photo appears sideways on a website, in a form, or in a document.
- A scan or photographed page is upside down.
- A selfie or screenshot is mirrored, so text reads backwards.
- You want a landscape image turned to portrait for a layout.
- You have a whole folder of photos that all need the same turn.
- You want to fix the image before converting, compressing or putting it into a PDF.
What each setting does:
| Setting | What it does | When to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Rotate: 90° right | Turns the image a quarter turn clockwise. | The top of the picture is pointing left. |
| Rotate: 90° left | Turns the image a quarter turn counter-clockwise. | The top of the picture is pointing right. |
| Rotate: 180° | Turns the image upside down to upright. | The image is upside down. |
| Flip: Mirror left to right | Swaps left and right, like a mirror. | Text reads backwards (for example a mirrored selfie). |
| Flip: Mirror top to bottom | Swaps top and bottom. | The image is flipped vertically. |
| Save as | Keeps the original format, or switches to JPG, PNG or WebP. | When you also need a different format. PNG and WebP keep transparency. |
| Quality | Controls JPG and WebP output. Default is 92%. | Keep 85–92% for photos that must look sharp. |
| Background | Fills transparent areas when saving as JPG. | Only when saving a transparent image as JPG. |
Flipping happens before rotating, and you can combine a flip with any rotation.
Good to know
- The rotation applies to the whole batch. Every image in the list gets the same turn. If some photos are sideways and others are fine, rotate the sideways ones as one batch and leave the rest.
- Rotation is in quarter turns. You can choose 90° left, 90° right or 180°, but not a custom angle such as 5°. For straightening a slightly crooked photo, use an editor.
- JPG and WebP are saved again. Rotated images are re-encoded, so use the quality slider (92% by default) and keep your originals.
- Animated images become still. Animated files such as GIF are saved as a single frame.
What You Can Do With This Rotator
- Rotate 90° left, 90° right or 180°. Right is clockwise, left is counter-clockwise.
- Flip or mirror. Mirror left to right or top to bottom, and combine it with any rotation.
- Rotate in bulk. Add up to 50 files at once, each up to 100 MB, and download them all as one ZIP.
- Switch format while you rotate. Keep the original format, or save as JPG, PNG or WebP.
- Control quality. For JPG and WebP output, the slider starts at 92%. Lower values make smaller files.
- Transparency handled. Keep it with PNG or WebP, or choose a background colour to fill transparent areas when saving as JPG.
- Private by design. Files are processed in your browser and never uploaded to a server, which matters for personal photos, IDs and scanned documents.
- Add files your way. Drag and drop, browse, or paste with Ctrl+V.
- No sign-up, no watermark, no fees.
- Works on any device. Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iPhone, in any modern browser.
Which Image Tool Should I Use?
Use the Image Rotator to fix the direction of an image. Once it is the right way up, you may want to resize it, compress it or turn it into a PDF.
How to Rotate Images (3 Steps)
Add your images
Drag and drop your files, click browse, or press Ctrl+V to paste. You can add up to 50 JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP or AVIF files, each up to 100 MB.
Choose the rotation
Open Settings. Pick 90° right, 90° left or 180° under Rotate, and use Flip if the image is mirrored. The rotation is applied to every image in the list, so add only the images that need the same fix.
Rotate and download
Click Rotate images, check the results, then save each file or use Download to get everything in one ZIP.
Tip: if you are not sure which way to turn it, look at where the top of the picture is pointing. If the top points left, choose 90° right. If it points right, choose 90° left.
Which Setting Should I Use?
| What it looks like | Setting |
|---|---|
| Photo is sideways, top points left | Rotate: 90° right |
| Photo is sideways, top points right | Rotate: 90° left |
| Photo or scan is upside down | Rotate: 180° |
| Text reads backwards (mirrored selfie or screenshot) | Flip: Mirror left to right |
| Image is upside down but text isn’t mirrored sideways | Rotate: 180° |
| Image is flipped top to bottom | Flip: Mirror top to bottom |
| Landscape needs to be portrait | Rotate: 90° left or right |
Rotate or flip: what is the difference?
| Choose | When |
|---|---|
| Rotate | The image is turned: sideways or upside down. The picture is correct, just in the wrong direction. |
| Flip (mirror) | The image is mirrored: text reads backwards, or left and right are swapped. |
Why do photos look sideways?
Phones record the way you were holding them as a note in the photo file, and some apps follow that note while others ignore it. That is why a picture can look fine on your phone but sideways on a website, in a form or in a document. Saving a correctly rotated copy fixes it everywhere.
What if only some of my photos are sideways?
The rotation applies to every image in the list. Add the sideways ones first, rotate them, then do the next group separately.
Tips for rotating images
- Keep the original files until you've checked the rotated versions.
- Rotate before you compress, resize or put images into a PDF, so you only save them once.
- Leave Save as on "Same as original" for photos, and keep quality at 85–92% if you save as JPG or WebP.
- If you save as JPG, choose a background colour for any transparent areas.
- Need to straighten a slightly crooked photo? Use an editor with a custom angle, then use this tool for the quarter turns.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I rotate an image?
Open Teasoft's Image Rotator, add your images, choose 90° right, 90° left or 180° under Rotate, click Rotate images and download the results individually or as a ZIP.
Which way is "right" and "left"?
90° right turns the image clockwise, a quarter turn like the hands of a clock. 90° left turns it counter-clockwise.
How do I fix a sideways photo?
Look at where the top of the picture is pointing. If it points left, rotate 90° right. If it points right, rotate 90° left. Then download the corrected copy.
How do I flip or mirror an image?
Under Flip, choose Mirror left to right (swaps left and right, like a mirror) or Mirror top to bottom (swaps top and bottom). You can combine a flip with any rotation. Flipping happens before rotating.
Can I rotate several images at once?
Yes. Add up to 50 files and every image is rotated the same way in one run. Download them all as one ZIP.
Can I rotate only some of my images?
The rotation applies to every image in the list. To rotate only some, add just those images, rotate them, and then handle the others separately.
Can I rotate an image by a custom angle, like 15°?
No. This tool rotates in quarter turns: 90° left, 90° right or 180°. For slight angles, such as straightening a crooked photo, use an image editor.
Does rotating reduce image quality?
Rotating by quarter turns doesn't blur the picture, but JPG and WebP files are saved again, so there is a tiny amount of compression. Keep quality at 85–92% and keep your originals. PNG output is lossless.
Why does my photo look fine on my phone but sideways elsewhere?
Phones store the orientation of a photo as a note in the file. Some apps follow it and others ignore it. Rotating and saving a corrected copy makes the picture the right way up everywhere.
What happens to transparent backgrounds?
They are kept when you save as PNG or WebP. JPG can't store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with the background colour you choose.
Which formats can I rotate?
JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP and AVIF, up to 50 files per batch and 100 MB each. You can keep the original format or save as JPG, PNG or WebP.
What about animated GIFs?
Animated files are saved as a still image, so only a single frame is kept.
How many images can I rotate at once?
You can add up to 50 files in one batch, each up to 100 MB.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Rotating happens in your browser, and your files are never uploaded.
Can I rotate images on my phone?
Yes. The tool works in the browser on Android, iPhone, tablets and computers. You do not need to install an app.
Is the Image Rotator free?
Yes. It is free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no hidden fees.
About Teasoft's Image Rotator
Teasoft's Image Rotator is a free browser-based tool that rotates and flips your images. Add JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP or AVIF files, choose 90° left, 90° right or 180°, add a mirror if you need one, and download the results one by one or as a ZIP of up to 50 files. You can keep the original format or switch to JPG, PNG or WebP while you rotate.
It is made for anyone with sideways, upside-down or mirrored images: students and job applicants with phone photos of documents, office workers with scans, website owners and sellers preparing product photos, and everyday users tidying a camera roll.
