Why Convert HEIC to PNG?
HEIC to PNG conversion re-saves an iPhone photo (HEIC or HEIF) as a lossless PNG file. PNG opens in almost every editor, design tool and document app, and it will not lose any more quality when you edit and save it again. Use it for editing, design work and apps that require PNG. For simple sharing and uploads, a JPG is usually smaller and just as compatible.
iPhones save photos as HEIC by default. It is a compact format, but not every program understands it. When you move a photo into a design tool, a slide deck, a video editor or a website builder and it is rejected, a PNG is a reliable fix.
Common reasons to convert HEIC to PNG:
- You are editing the photo in software that opens PNG but not HEIC.
- You want a lossless working copy that will not degrade each time you save it.
- You are placing the photo in a design, mock-up, slide deck or document.
- A tool, plugin or platform specifically asks for PNG.
- You want to archive a photo in a format that will open on any computer.
Be honest about the trade-off: PNG files made from photos are large, often several times the size of the original HEIC. That is normal for a lossless format. PNG also cannot recover detail that the HEIC compression already discarded. It simply preserves the photo exactly as it appears after conversion.

HEIC Photo Won't Open? Your Options
HEIC is the default photo format on iPhones, so these files turn up whenever you move pictures to a computer or send them to someone else. If a photo will not open, the file is not broken. The program simply does not support HEIC.
What can you do?
- Convert to PNG (this tool) for editing, design work and lossless copies.
- Convert to JPG for sharing, email and upload forms that only accept JPG.
- Share differently from your iPhone. In the share options, you can often send a more compatible version of the photo instead of the original.
- Change the camera format. Go to Settings > Camera > Formats and choose Most Compatible, and new photos are saved as JPG. (Menu names may vary slightly between iOS versions.)

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I convert HEIC to PNG?
Open Teasoft's HEIC to PNG converter, add your HEIC photos, click Convert to PNG and download the results as individual files or a ZIP. There are no settings to change.
What is a HEIC file?
HEIC is the image format iPhones and iPads use by default since iOS 11. It stores photos in smaller files than JPG or PNG at similar quality, but not every device or program supports it.
Is HEIC the same as HEIF?
Close, but not identical. HEIF is the file format standard and HEIC is the version Apple uses for photos. Teasoft's converter accepts both.
Does converting HEIC to PNG reduce quality?
No further quality is lost. PNG is lossless, so it keeps the photo exactly as it appears. It cannot restore detail that HEIC compression already discarded.
Why is my PNG so much bigger than the HEIC?
HEIC is designed to be very compact, while PNG stores every pixel without lossy compression. Large PNG files from photos are normal. If you need smaller files, use HEIC to JPG instead.
Should I convert HEIC to PNG or JPG?
Choose PNG for editing, design work and lossless copies. Choose JPG for email, uploads, social media and saving storage space.
Why won't my iPhone photos open on Windows or Android?
Many Windows and Android setups do not include HEIC support by default, so the photo cannot be displayed. Converting the photo to PNG or JPG lets it open anywhere.
Does this keep my original photo?
Yes. The converter makes a new PNG file. Your original HEIC stays untouched on your device.
What happens to Live Photos?
A Live Photo becomes a single still PNG image. The motion and sound are not included.
Can I convert many HEIC files at once?
Yes. Add up to 50 files in one batch, each up to 100 MB, and download them all as a ZIP.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. Conversion happens in your browser, and your photos are never uploaded.
Can I convert HEIC to PNG on my iPhone or Android phone?
Yes. The converter works in the browser on iPhone, Android, tablets and computers. You do not need to install an app.
Is the HEIC to PNG converter free?
Yes. It is free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no hidden fees.
