How Do You Convert PowerPoint to PDF?
To convert PowerPoint to PDF, add your .pptx file, click Convert to PDF and download the file. Each slide becomes one PDF page in the same 16:9, 4:3 or custom size as your presentation. Teasoft's PowerPoint to PDF converter runs entirely in your browser, so your slides are never uploaded to a server.
PowerPoint files are made for presenting, but they don't always look right on other people's devices. Fonts get swapped, layouts shift, and many people simply don't have PowerPoint installed. Saving your deck as a PDF locks every slide in place so everyone sees the same thing. This free PPT to PDF converter does that without Microsoft PowerPoint or any other software, turning pitch decks, lecture slides, project presentations, portfolios and reports into PDFs you can share, print, email or upload anywhere.
Everything happens on your own device. Your browser opens the PPTX file, reads each slide together with its layout, master and theme colours, and rebuilds it as a page. Each slide is captured with html2canvas and saved as a standard PDF file with pdf-lib, one slide per page, in the same proportions as your presentation. A deck can have up to 500 slides.
What ends up in your PDF:
| Part of your slides | In your PDF | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Text and bullet points | Kept, with size, colour and alignment | Bold, italic and underline are kept; text is set in a clean Arial-style font |
| Images and photos | Kept | PNG, JPG, GIF, SVG, WebP and BMP images are supported |
| Shapes and lines | Kept, with solid fills and outlines | Complex shapes such as arrows and stars are simplified |
| Tables | Kept as rows and columns | Cell text and borders carry over |
| Slide backgrounds and themes | Solid colours kept | Gradient and pattern fills appear plain |
| Charts and SmartArt | Not included | Paste them as pictures in PowerPoint before converting |
| Animations, video, audio and speaker notes | Not included | The PDF shows each slide as a still page |
| Text in the PDF | Saved as high-quality page images | The layout is fixed, but text can’t be selected or searched |

Getting better results when you convert
- Save as .pptx. If your file ends in .ppt, open it in PowerPoint, Google Slides or LibreOffice Impress and save it as .pptx first.
- Use common fonts. Text is set in a clean Arial-style font, so slides designed with standard fonts look closest to the original.
- Turn charts and SmartArt into pictures. They aren't converted directly, so paste them as images to keep them in the PDF.
- Delete slides you don't need. Every slide in the file is converted, including hidden ones, so remove extra slides first.
- Remove the password first. PowerPoint files that need a password to open can't be read, so save an unprotected copy before converting.
After you convert your PowerPoint file
- Combine files. Use Merge PDF to join several slide decks into one PDF.
- Make it smaller. Use Compress PDF before you email or upload it.
- Sign it. Use Sign PDF to add your signature to a proposal or agreement.
- Protect it. Use Protect PDF to add a password before you share it.
